2018 Pacific Coast Fog Fest: Letís Celebrate the Marvelous Coast
One of the biggest events in the Pacifica that is being celebrated every September of the year is once again knocking its doors to its patrons — both locals and tourists. Come celebrate and experience the fun at this year’s Fog Fest.
For over 33 years, Fog Fest has still maintained its vibrant and fun vibe - the reason why most locals and tourists still love to attend this much-anticipated event in the Pacifica. The first Fog Fest dates back in the year 1986 for its first run and it has been successful since. Its aim to promote the city of Pacifica and attract visitors and celebrate the community still materializes until today. In fact, the Fog Fest still raises funds to support local groups in the community.
This year, the 2018 Pacific Coast Fog Fest is happening on September 29 and 30 from 10am to 6pm on Palmetto Ave in Pacifica with free admission. There will be over 200 booths designated for arts and crafts selling a smorgasbord of items like pots, jewelry, apparels, textiles, glasses and ceramics to name a few. Live music from local artists and guests will also make this 2-day event lively and joyful. There will be other activities that will surely excite the whole family.
The 2018 Pacific Coast Fog Fest starts with a parade and marching band competition. The fun doesn’t end there because lots of activities and entertainment are in store for all the guests. Last year, the Pacific Fog Fest was a huge success. It was flocked by many people from all over the Pacifica and there were over 200 booths that sold different items and stage of live music. There were carnival rides and sand sculpture by Bill Lewis of Santa Cruz Sand. They also introduced new activities like the Treasure Hunt and Fog Bank Contest.
1. Thousands are expected to visit the festival so be there early on the 29th and the 30th.
2. Some roads may be closed due to the influx of festival goers so better find an alternate route to the festival grounds.
3. Free bicycle parking at the south end of Palmetto Ave.
4. Beginning 4pm, Friday, Palmetto Ave will be closed to traffic throughout the festival weekend.
5. Free street parking on Oceana and Francisco Blvd.
6. Better leave your pets at home.
7. Bicycles, skateboards are not allowed.
8. Smoking is strictly prohibited on the grounds.
Highlight of last year's Pacific Coast Fogfest
Pacifica Beach Hotel is approximately 4.2 miles from Palmetto Ave where Pacific Coast Fog Fest will be held. It is just a 7-minute drive via private car.
