Flashback: Pacifica Then and Now

When you look at the old photographs of a particular place, one can’t help but reminisce the good old days of the yesteryears. How things have changed and how things have still remained the same. Pacifica was totally different from how it looked many many years ago. Let’s take a look at the Pacifica then and now.
From Duck farm to Pacifica Community Center
Before it was occupied by the Pacifica Community Center, did you know that the site where the Pacifica Community Center is now situated was then a duck farm? Owned and operated by a native of Nicaragua. Hada Selva , a professor and president of the Nicaraguan Congress was brought to San Francisco following the death of his father.  The duck farm all started when Hada Selva realized that the food supply is not enough during the World War II. Today, the site is home to the Pacifica Community Center ever since it was established in 1989. It is now used as a private or community venue for non-profit groups.
Sharp Park District
In the late 1950s, the Sharp Park District was once a vast land without so much concrete buildings. It’s like an empty lot that is pleasing to the eyes. Adjacent to it is an agricultural field. Roads are not busy and the flow of traffic is fast. The serenity of the place and its slow-paced life is something that will only be part of the past.

Over the years, Pacifica Beach Hotel has been one of Pacifica's architectural landmark and travel destination hot spot.
